Keep track of your hardware and software

The office admin's life is not made any easier by complex software license agreements or the rotation of computer hardware. Keeping track of which software license is installed on which computers, working out which computers are due from repair or how many licenses of Microsoft Office you have left are tedious and thankless tasks. This is where HSTracker comes in.

HSTracker is a simple to use asset management application that helps you keep track of hardware and software in your business and stay on top of software licensing in your organisation. It is available in three versions - Lite, Standard and Multi-user.

A Time Saver

HSTracker deploys an intuitive user interface with flexible management and reporting of data. By making the right data available at the right time, it can save you time and spare you many searches through emails and invoices. HSTracker makes sure that all the information you need is available at a glance and even connects to the Apple support site to find the latest info about your specific Apple hardware. HSTracker can import Apple Remote Desktop reports for all your Apple computers, saving you having to enter the data manually. If you have to resort to manual entry, HSTracker uses predictive text to make that a little easier.

Versions

HSTracker Lite - the Lite version offers all the hardware related features but omits the ability to manage software licenses. It retains all the other features including the ability to import from Apple Remote Desktop and export Excel files. The Lite version does not require any additional software to run.

HSTracker - the standard version has a full and complete set of features including hardware and software management. Its only limit is that only one user at a time can access the data. It does not require FileMaker or any other additional software.

HSTracker Multi-User - the network version includes all the features and also supports up to 10 concurrent users. It requires FileMaker 9 client or later with FileMaker Server recommended. Versions that support more than 10 concurrent users are available on request. All versions offer Apple Remote Desktop integration. The multi-user version also runs on PCs with a few minor limitations (a full list will be published soon).

Ofir Gal and Gal Consultancy Ltd have been providing IT services for more than a decade. Their customers include ie:music, airside, trmg, robbie williams, the gaia foundation, onedotzero and others. In the early 90s, Ofir authored GemBench which became the industry standard benchmark for the Atari ST platform (RIP) and was the technical editor of Atari World magazine. Following that he also contributed to Mac Action, Mac Format and Sound On Sound magazines. Since then he moved on to systems integration and database development and made various contribution to the Mac community, most notably the manual for the open source radmind project – one of the best mass deployment tools for OS X.
