Region X is totally useless if you didn't change your drive's firmware to a region-free one.
Changing your drive's firmware to a region-free one is not enough. You'll also need Region X.
Here, you'll find:
- Region X official version
This
is for use with a region-free drive, Mac OS X and Apple's DVD
Player or Front Row. Universal binary, tested on Mac OS X 10.3.0 and up.
If you have troubles with older versions of Mac OS X, you may want to try this PowerPC-only version instead.
- Region X official version's source
Don't be shy, if you're a Mac developer, you might be doing something useful with this source, like updating and enhancing it!
- Region Display official version: PAL or NTSC
Region Display
is a very small DVD movie that will display your player region settings, as
they may be queried by some movies, e.g. RCE protected movies. Suitable
for checking topset DVD players.
- My old document about patching DVD firmware
Patching a DVD firmware isn't an easy task, but if you know how to patch binaries, it might be the help you need.
Official Region X version is now 1.6.
Official Region Display version is now 1.5.
