Let's start by describing the features that are common to all three applications...

The Mac OS X models are Universal Binary, so they run natively on either PowerPC- or x86 (Intel)-based Macintosh computers.
When you start the application for the first time, a wizard appears and guides you through the configuration process.
All optimizers optimize both HTML code and script code. The following script types are supported: JavaScript, Java, LassoScript, CFScript, PHP, ASP, JSP, CSP, TPL and CSS.
The Smart Handling feature enables you to automatically handle only the pages that you have edited. If you have worked on 25 pages during the day and then you optimize your entire web folder with Smart Handling on, you will see that only the changed pages are optimized.
You can exclude certain files and/or folders from being optimized. Nested subfolders are supported.
Drag and Drop is fully supported. On the program's Drop Spot you can drop files and/or folders. Folders are handled recursively.
In the Preferences panel you can customize the optimization rules, and more. You could, for example, select the option to encode email addresses to deceive spam harvesters.
A history log is available to show all your actions from the past.

The most important and frequently-used controls are placed on the resizable main window. Less frequently used controls are stored as menu items on the menus, or on popup windows accessed from the menus. We have applied the right amount of automation to the controls to get you up and running in no time.

The images are 20% of the real size, taken on Mac OS X 10.5.

HTML-Optimizer Pro includes all features of HTML-Optimizer and Web Site Maestro includes all features of HTML-Optimizer Pro

HTML-Optimizer is recommended if you manage only one web site and you do not need any extras besides optimizing web pages. More information can be found in the manual which is built into the application. You can try a fully functional demo for 30 days. The only restriction is that a demo optimizes 70% of your total number of web pages in one pass. When you purchase a license, you can change your demo to the full version.

HTML-Optimizer Pro is recommended if you manage more than one web site and/or if you need extra features like tag checking, link checking and optimizing JPEG images and PNG images without transparency.

Web Site Maestro is recommended if you need instant uploading and other transfer facilities such as synchronizing your web site with your local web folder, also in secure FTP or WebDAV mode. The latter means that iDisk is supported.
