Time Machine can be installed on any number of computers in your organization, all of them connecting to a central database server, making reporting and administration a snap.

Does it handle deductions, taxes and payroll? No.
Time Machine is designed to be a capture tool, meaning it captures the hourly employee data. It can help distinguish between regular and overtime, and even daily overtime some states have begun to require. It even allows for holiday, vacation and personal punch data. The end result is a report, or export, that can be delivered to your payroll department or processing service.
What else does it do?
Time Machine is designed with an internet-based, auto update feature that will allow for frequent software updates to the application. We will be adding additional time tracking features in the future, including job work logs and vacation accrual systems. All version 1.x updates will be provided 100% free of charge.
What if I use Macs and PC's on the same network? No problem.
Time Machine is available for Windows or Mac, and both can connect to the same MySQL database server. The server can be setup using a PC running Windows, or a Mac running OS X.
I'm not sure I can spare a computer to use as a server. No problem.
Unless you have a large number of users connecting to the server, 20 or more, the MySQL database server software could actually run on one of the employee workstations. MySQL runs as a service on Windows, and is accessible only through the terminal on Mac OS X. The employee can connect locally, while all other employees on the network could connect remotely (via IP address).
What are the system requirements?
The Time Machine application runs on Windows XP. The code is compatible with Windows 2000, NT and 98SE as well, but it has not been tested on those platforms. The Mac version runs on Mac OS X (10.2 or later).
MySQL database server, version 4.1, can run on Windows, Linux, Unix or Mac OS X. The computer that will be used as the 'Server' must have a static, or non-changing, IP address. This is required if other computers are going to connect across the network. If the 'Server' and 'Client' are going to run on the same computer, the IP address is not required to be static.

The Time Machine time card window gives you an in-depth view of the entire pay period, including running totals per day and by type. The employee can punch in and out from this screen as well as from the main menu.

Each employee has a unique login, with a username and a password. In addition, each user (employee) is assigned an 'access' level, which defines what they can and cannot do in the system.

MySQL is a free download. Time Machine will run in 'Trial' mode, and will allow you to use it free until you have logged 100 punches in the system. After that, if you are happy with the system, you can purchase and enter a serial number to unlock the desired number of seats you want to use. So, what do you have to lose? How does the license structure work for Time Machine?
Each license for Time Machine is valid for a certain number of 'Seats', meaning a certain number of computers than can run the software. You are not limited to the number of users you can have in the system. You can also, at any time, add additional 'Seats' to the system, which will allow for more computers to connect.

What about support?
We offer support for Time Machine via email for a period of sixty days from the date of purchase. In addition, you will receive free updates to your software until the next 'major' update* These updates will include bug fixes and new features. We will work with you to resolve any issues you may come across. While we cannot offer refunds for software purchases, we promise to stand behind you.
* A major update is define by a new version number, such as a change from version 1.9 to version 2. The first number in the version number is the 'major' version identifier. For example, if the current version is 1.0, you will receive ALL updates until the software reaches version 2.0.
