Q. What is Birthday Book Plus?
A. Unlike those little Birthday\Address (A to Z ) books most of us have that in time get very untidy or lost Birthday Book Plus remains on your computer as a editable database program from which you can view and print renewable or multiple copies of Birthday, address and contacts information at anytime.

Birthday Book Plus
The Plus refers to the additional information your can optionally add to a Birthday record in the form of address, phone, e-mail contact details and notes. The 'Plus' also refers to the 'Reminders' database. A completely separate database where you can record anything at all, for example anniversaries, appointments, bills, car maintenance or whatever.

Reports
Reports are a strong feature of the program as we do not always want to turn on a computer just to lookup somebody's Birthday. There are 10 variations of Birthday reports alone to choose from. These reports allow you to print renewable or multiple copies of Birthday and contacts information at anytime. There are also phone, e-mail, data integrity and 4 different Reminder reports.

Some general information about the program.
Although the program has been designed for the home computer user as a very easy to use and practical Birthday database program it could also be very useful for business purposes also.

Birthday Book Plus is a Shareware program (see ‘What is Shareware?’ below), it is not free software, should you wish full unrestricted use of the program you need to Register (only $12.00 USD).

If the program is later updated (IE. new features added, enhancements or patches made) any such updates will be FREE to Registered users of the software.

The trial program will not time expire if it is not registered but the number of records that can be entered is restricted. Once Registered (purchased) the record limitation is completely removed along with the registration options and messages.

History
Used for personal use for many years. Since its been so useful I felt others may also enjoy the benefits it offers. This newer Shareware version was rewritten based on the original program.

Some tips on usage
The program has many reports to choose from. The idea being that we don't always want to have to start the computer just to check for birthdays or remainders instead we simply print a list and place it in a convenient place like behind a kitchen cupboard door or filed in a folder.

Entering data for Birthdays
For basic birthday recording only the information on the first tab of the 'Update Birthdays' window is needed but further optional information can be added on the 'Other details' and 'Notes' tabs extending it into a 'Contacts' database as well.

Data integrity report for the Birthdays file
This report tests all records and lists any records that would be excluded from printed reports.
Apart from showing records set to be excluded by the user it will also lists any records with no 'Date Born' entered.

Dates
The program uses the Windows 'Short Date' format. To change the way your computer displays the date do the following:
- Open Regional and Language Options found in the Control Panel.
- On the Regional Options tab, then under Standards and formats, click Customize.
- On the Date tab, specify any changes you want to make under Short date.

E-mail
You can directly e-mail a person from the program by clicking on their e-mail address found on the 'Browse Birthdays' window (compatible e-mail software required).

Phone List
A phone list can be printed, a very handy report to have by the phone. Only records that contain a phone or fax number are included in the report.

Birthday Book Plus - V1.06 is Shareware

What is Shareware? This software program is distributed as shareware. Shareware is a software distribution and marketing method not a type of software. The essence of shareware is to provide you with software that you get to 'try before you buy', while rewarding the efforts of the developers.

When you think about it, the opportunity to try before you buy is the ultimate guarantee of a product's quality and usefulness to you. In fact, shareware can be just as professionally developed as software that comes in a fancy box (with a lot of hype and yet no way to determine issues such as the 'look and feel', etc.), but the price of shareware can be set lower because it does not have to cover expensive marketing costs. Still, software businesses that market their products as shareware need to still get paid for their efforts just as any other business. When you support the shareware concept, it ensures that the concept will continue to work and you will continue to get 'try before you buy' software.
