The Cacheman utility is designed to improve the performance of your computer by optimizing the disk cache, memory and a number of other settings. Cacheman prevents frequent paging to the hard disk caused by poor memory management, so you get improved performance, faster system reaction time and greater stability. What does Cacheman cost?

Cacheman's cost is dependent on the user:

1. Private/Educational user

The registration fee for Cacheman is $10. Since some users cannot afford $10, Cacheman has no disabled features and no time limit. If you really cannot afford the shareware fee you are allowed to use Cacheman for free.

2. Commercial/Corporate user

To continue to use Cacheman legally after 15 days, a license must be purchased. Discounts are available for multi-user and corporate/site licenses, please refer to the help file for the discount list.

Product support is available only to registered (paid) users of the software. Turning off the splash screen works also only in the registered version.

Will Cacheman improve every system?

Every computer system is different, so users will experience different results.

"I just had to write to thank you for your product. I have a Compaq with 800mhz PIII. The problem was a majority of the time when I attempted to burn a cd I would get underwrite errors even if I was not running any other programs. I thought I could correct this by adding additional ram. After adding another 256mb (bringing my total to 384mb) I would still get the write errors. I heard about Cacheman on CNET and thought I would give it a try. Let me tell you, I wish I had known about this before I went and purchased the additional ram! Since I have loaded Cacheman I have burned over 50 cd's and have not had a single error. But that's not all. I decided to really push it and see what my computer could handle. I added a new burner. I upgraded my burner from 4x write to 24x write. Then started the test. While burning a cd I....

(2) Watched music videos online.
(3)Downloaded mp3 files
(4)Created and printed jewel cases

After starting these programs my cd was just about complete and I still had a large amount of available ram. I know that without Cacheman this wouldn't have been possible at all. I barely could burn a cd let alone try to create a jewel case or surf the web, that was a guaranteed burn error. And I enjoy watching my friends facial expressions when I run other programs while I burn a cd. They warn me not to touch anything while I'm burning or I'll have to toss out another cd-r. "I just want to say that I love your new program Cacheman 5. Cacheman 4.1 was great and made a huge improvement on my system - my PIII 1GHz w/256MB RAM seemed to be more responsive than my friends Athlon 1333Hz w/512MB RAM (or at least it did until he downloaded the program), I was overjoyed when I read that there was a new version. I have yet to see any major performance differences (between 4.1 and 5) but the interface is much better, it gives me quick "wizard" solutions when I need them and the ability to tweak the settings to perfection myself when I have the time. I haven't had the cash to register yet (tuition sucks it all up) but I plan to do so as soon as I get a chance. You guys have created a very professional product that I intend to recommend to all my friends, keep up the good work."
