Mt. St. Helens VolcanoCam Widget - Freeware - Click here to download.NEW! Version 3 has been released! This new update (free, as always) adds a Zoom button to the right of the refresh button. Click the Zoom button while in the default mode (320x240 image size) and load a large volcanoCam - a full 640x480! Clicking the zoom button while in the large mode returns you to the default 320x240 mode, to save screen real estate.
More than just a simple webcam, this widget displays a half-size static image from the Mount St. Helens Volcanocam, as well as the current volcano Alert Level as assigned by the US Geological Survey. The Alert Level is not available on the volcanocam site, but the widget displays both the image and the Alert Level in a single, easy to access place. The VolcanoCam image and the Alert Level automatically updates approximately every five minutes.
As always, the Volcanocam button below the image will take you to the official website in your default web browser. In the same way, the Alert Level button takes you to the USGS site for an explanation of the Alert Level.
New since version 2.1 is automatic version checking. If a newer version has been released, the Volcanocam button will change colors and caption to let you know. In that case the button will take you to this site instead of the Volcanocam site.
The current version is 3.0, please download the latest version if your current version is older.
