MacJournal 5.1 (released 8/21/08)
: Mac journaling and blog software
Introducing MacJournal 5.
Totally revamped and rebuilt for Mac OS X Leopard, MacJournal 5
organizes all your important information and helps chronicle your life
faster and easier than ever before. Create a personal journal with
MacJournal’s simple-to-use interface with two-level security (password
protection and AES-256 encryption). MacJournal 5 allows users to add
any kind of content, PDFs, QuickTime movies, images, and text.
MacJournal 5 also introduces Smart Journals, which allow specific
criteria to be searched upon. Assign each entry a rating, status, and
priority, and sort any journal by those values. You can now record
audio entries for your journal or even podcast! If blogging is more
your style, MacJournal lets you publish your work as a blog (or record video from your iSight) to any of the popular blogging services, including your .mac account. Even blog video to blogs on Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, .mac, or many more. And while we're on the subject of your .mac account, MacJournal now supports .mac syncing! Experience how easy it is to keep your journal at your fingertips, even when you're on the road.
**MacJournal 5.1 is a free upgrade for all registered MacJournal 5

Try it, you might like it
If you are a writer who needs a distraction-free writing landscape,
MacJournal's Full Screen feature is for you! No background apps,
no email, no menu bar, just you focusing on your words.
Do you find yourself squinting to see your work? Do you use the standard
black font on a white background?
Try green words on a black background...your eyes will thank you for it!
The Modern Day Substitute for the Pen and Paper
Take the convenience of documenting a thought or event with pen and paper
and add the power of blogging, calendaring, password protection,
and high-powered search capabilities and what do you have?
The 2008 version of managing your ideas and daily events.
I can do this with my word processor, can't I?
We get this question so much that we had to include it
onto the main MacJournal page.
In a nutshell, yes, you can. Any word processor or text editor
(Mariner Write, TextEdit, that one developed in Redmond, WA)
will work as a journaling app.
But that's not what they were developed for.
Would Lance Armstrong use a bike purchased at WalMart
to race in the Tour de France? He could...but would his times
be as fast as if he rode on a bike designed for racing?
Probably not.
The same theory applies with MacJournal. We have developed
and designed this product with only the journaler in mind. Could a
word processing application give you two levels of security, one-click
blogging (even to your .mac account), audio, .mac syncing, and nested, multiple journal capabilities?
Probably not.
To Blog or Not to Blog
Let's face it, the internet makes communication incredibly easy. In today's
fast paced world, if you have a computer and an internet connection,
you can share your thoughts with a few or a few million. Blogging, or publishing
and maintaining a journal on the internet, is the latest form of expressing
yourself. Communicate with family and friends or step up onto your own
personal soapbox, MacJournal is Mac blog software that makes blogging a snap.
Then again, if you're more the private type and want to keep your work
on your hard drive, MacJournal gives you two levels of security:
Password protection or AES-256 encryption.
MacJournal supports these, and many other, blog sites...
Extroverted or introverted. Open or private. Just pick the way that's right
for you.
Remember When...
They say that the average human being has 10-20 memorable events
that take place a day. Combine that over an extended period of time and
that is a lot of events! MacJournal built-in search capabilities allow you
to find exactly what you wrote, at whatever time, on whatever day...
with one click.
MacJournal features:
• Online blogs supporting LiveJournal, Blogger, Movable Type, WordPress,
and more.
• 2-D Quartz rendering technology making graphically rich journals.
• Nested, multiple journals and Entry Keywords efficiently organizing
your entries. Have one for your work log, and have another for your
personal journal.
• Password protection and AES-256 encryption providing maximum
strength security.
• Multiple file formats, exporting your data to Microsoft Word, RTF, HTML,
and more.
• Rich Text Editing where individual entries can have multiple colors,
fonts, kerning, spacing; really anything you want. In addition, you
can now
drag image files from the file into entries! Rulers can also be
displayed to
further help you align things.
• Powerful searching capabilities to search all of the entries in all of your
journals with one click.
• Print any entry to a printer or PDF file.
• Mac OS X Toolbar functions are available as items in the customizable
toolbar in the main window.
